34 C.F.R Schools must develop and apply ‘an adequate system to identify and resolve discrepancies in the information that the institution receives from different sources with respect to a student’s application for financial aid under Title IV.” Spring Conference April , 2017

7 Spring Conference April 9 - 12, 2017
Example Duplicate Address Policy It is the policy of the Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College Financial Aid Office to ensure that students are receiving aid legitimately. If more than five students are living at one address inside of the Asheville/Madison service area* AND are receiving Federal Student Aid, all of the students living at this address will be flagged institutionally for the maximum possible verification to ensure they are legitimately pursuing their education (maximum verification includes, but is not limited to: Unusual Enrollment, Tax Return Transcripts, Number in household, and an explanation of living circumstances). If more than two students are living at one address outside of the Asheville/Madison service area* AND are receiving Federal Student Aid, all of the students living at this address will be flagged institutionally for the maximum possible verification to ensure they are legitimately pursuing their education (maximum verification includes, but is not limited to: Unusual Enrollment, Tax Return Transcripts, Number in household, and an explanation of living circumstances). *The service area does not include the surrounding counties.
