When you burn coal the sulfur in the coal turns to acid : Chemically the burned sulfur forms sulfur trioxide which then reacts with the moisture in the atmosphere to form sulfuric acid What can we add to neutralize it? Can add base to fumes, typically calcium carbonate(CaCO3) Impact of CO2? The coal plant still emits CO2 which goes in to the atmosphere and contributes to greenhouse gasses. The greenhouse gasses keep heat from escaping from the earth, global warming.

4 Turbine Generator in Electric Plant
Generator: is simply a device that moves a magnet near a wire to create a steady flow of electrons. The current is created due to a law of electromagnetism called Faraday’s Law of Induction, discovered in the 1800’s.  This law states that a wire conductor that creates movement through a magnetic field creates an electric current, and that the strength of the current is equal to the rate of change through the magnetic field.  So, the faster the copper coil rotates, the more electric current will be created.

Source rocks: Mudstone and shale contain large pores and act like sponges but impermeable( Hard to penetrate) . Because they have sponge like characteristics they are able to store the oil These pores also store water, but. Because oil is less dense then water it’s able to slowly percolate toward the surface of the earth. As it moves upward most oil & gas will get stopped by another impermeable layer of rock which will form of seal. Reservoir: oil & gas trapped between the source rocks and the seal.
