We are very excited to have you join our family and start on your academic journey. Your journey starts with NSO Online. We will highlight important information and services that will help you succeed! R E S O U C C O U N S E L R R E G I S T
STUDENT LIFE
We are very excited to have you join our family and start working towards your academic journey! Before you can meet with a counselor and choose your courses for the semester, we would like you to learn more about the College through this online orientation that has been created just for you!
We begin this orientation by introducing you to Student Life and the many events that they host on campus throughout the semester. Student Life is also the place where you can get involved with Student Government and participate in one of the many student organizations on campus. Then we will navigate the world of financial aid. We will show you how to apply for grants, scholarships, and loans so you can pay for college. We will show you the benefits of meeting with a counselor to help plan out your academic journey. After a visit with counseling, we will explore the many campus resources that are available to you. These resources will help you succeed in your classes. Did you ever hear a word like pre-requisite and think huh? Well, we will define some important college terms for you so that you show off to your friends. We will demonstrate how to register for your first college classes. We are almost finished. We will talk about how to check on your academic progress with the Star program. You can use STAR as your road map for your academic journey because it shows you the classes that you have taken. The last stop is a short demonstration of Laulima, the web based learning system that you will need for most of your classes. So, relax, sit back, and learn about Leeward CC. Oh, we forgot to mention that after each section, you will be required to answer some questions – this will be your first exam at Leeward CC!
