3 What is Title I? IAS is a schoolwide Title I school where resources are provided for all staff and students. The purpose of the program is to generate high levels of academic achievement in core subject areas for all students, especially those students most in need.

4 What is Title I? This purpose is achieved through:
High Quality Instruction Comprehensive strategies and methods that are based on the use of evidence based research Strategies and methods to improve teacher quality and professional development Consolidated use of funds

5 Title I Information Federal funding to assist low achieving students
Federal funds allocated based on the percent of students receiving free and reduced lunch Training provided to all Title I schools District Improvement Plan created to improve student achievement

6 Title I Requirements Needs Assessment with Stakeholder Input
Use of Evidenced-based Reform Strategies Parent Input Parent Involvement Parent Compact and Parent Involvement Policy Research-based Professional Development All Stakeholders Participate in Student Learning

7 How are Title I funds spent?
Academic Coach Parent Facilitator Technology – Chromebooks, Tech Support Teacher and Parent Training Extended Learning for Students (After School and/or Summer) Supplemental Instructional Materials and Equipment Parent Engagement

8 FAMILY ENGAGEMENT Parent Compact
Agreement between teachers, parents and students Agreement jointly created by the school and parents Outlines responsibilities of teachers, parents and students Details the school goals Lists school engagement activities Provides ways that IAS will communicate with families

Focuses on federal guidelines under Every Student Succeeds Act Support or technical assistance given to parents Parents provided an opportunity to evaluate the school Provide funds for parent engagement Training for parents on instructional strategies Training for teachers to effectively work with parents Strengthening parent engagement
