8. Santa Fe Expedition June 1841
Lamar sent troops to claim the western boundary of Texas
All land east of the Rio Grande
Texans were captured and imprisoned
Expedition was a failure and waste of money

9. Mier Expedition Mexico invaded Texas after the Santa Fe expedition
300 Texans were sent to Mier in order to push back Mexican forces
Over 900 Mexicans fought back and the Texans surrendered
Santa Anna ordered every Texan that drew a black bean be executed
176 Texans were executed
