2. Introduction
Castle of Glass is an inspiring song for everyone fighting in the army. It talks about how hard it is to be away from friends and family and the yearning to come back home. This song not only sounds great but has a very deep meaning to it as well.

3. Background information
Linkin Park was formed in 1996 by members Mike Shinoda, Rob Bourdon, and Brad Delson. Later, the band recruited Joe Hahn and Dave Farrell, and was introduced to Chester Bennington, which rounded out their permanent lineup. Initially the band would call themselves Xero, before changing their name to Hybrid Theory, and finally Linkin Park.

4. Opinion statement
In my opinion Castle of Glass is one of Linkin Parks best songs even though it may not be as popular as some of their other songs. It gives a really good message that isn’t easily found anywhere else.

The themes of this song include “A desire to escape” and “The fight with ones self”

Take me down to the river end

Here its talking about the flow of life and despite the struggles you go with the flow. Then its asking for forgiveness and mercy to remove all the misdeeds one has commited. After that its asking for redemption and wanting to return to a pure state.

Fly me up on a silver wing
Past the black where the sirens sing
Warm me up in a nova's glow
And drop me down to the dream below
Here its talking about wanting to fly and be free. Overcoming traps and obstacles one may face on the way. Then its all enlightenment. After that they want to be in a dream world, a place where they can be the happiest.

‘Cause I’m only a crack in this castle of glass
Hardly anything there for you to see
For you to see
The castle signifies an entire nation while the cracks are individual soldiers. The castle only stands because of the support of the soldiers.

9. sTAnza 4 and explanation
Bring me home in a blinding dream
Through the secrets that I have seen
Wash the sorrow from off my skin
And show me how to be whole again
Now one wants to come back home even if it is a dream. They talk about the secrets that soldiers see, the things that are never told to the public. Then they want to remove all the sadness and pain they experienced while fighting and now want to go back to a pure state.

10. Counter argument
People could say that this song is really depressing and I somewhat agree, but it also has a strong meaning to it which overcomes the depressing atmosphere it may have.

11. conclusion
Castle of Glass by Linkin Park is a great song that has a strong meaning to it, displaying a desire to escape and fighting oneself. The yearning to go home after all the pain and suffering experienced in war.
