2 Goals for this webinar Understand the program, application process, and club/district responsibilities. Learn how to engage and mentor potential candidates throughout the application process. Familiarize yourself with the district endorsement process.

3 Rotary Peace Fellowship Options
Each year: Up to 100 peace fellows selected Master’s Program: Young professionals Up to 50 fellows per year (10 per Center) 15-24 month course Professional Development Program (3-month): Experienced professionals Up to 50 fellows per year (25 per session) 3 month course, 2 sessions per year

4 Qualifications The ideal candidate
Strong commitment to global understanding & peace Strong leadership skills Strong personal statement Meets all application requirements: Proficiency in English Strong commitment to international understanding and peace as demonstrated through professional and academic achievements and personal or community service Excellent leadership skills Master's degree candidates: minimum three years of relevant full-time work experience and a bachelor's degree Certificate candidates: minimum five years of relevant full-time work and a strong academic background

5 Eligibility Restrictions
Rotary Peace Fellowships may not be used for doctoral study. And the following people are not eligible for the master’s degree program: Active Rotary members Employees of a Rotary club or district, Rotary International, or other Rotary entity Spouses, lineal descendants (children or grandchildren by blood or legal adoption), spouses of lineal descendants, or ancestors (parents or grandparents by blood) of any living person in these categories. Former Rotary members and their relatives as described above (within 36 months of their resignation) Recipients of Global Grant Scholarships or professional development certificate fellowships must wait three years after completion of the scholarship or fellowship to apply for the master's degree program. Rotary Peace Fellows who have completed the master's degree program must wait five years to apply for the certificate program.

Questions to ask yourself when reviewing the resume: Does the resume show the minimum years of full-time relevant work experience? Does the resume match other application materials – essay, transcript, etc? Does the applicant have enough professional work experience to qualify for the fellowship?

Questions to ask yourself when reading the essays: Does the candidate’s personal story inspire you? Does the candidate describe their professional experiences well? Do they connect them with peace and conflict prevention and resolution? Is the candidate illustrating their leadership skills in their essays? Does the candidate put effort into writing their essays? 17 All candidates must be interviewed by a district selection committee.
Interview Candidates All candidates must be interviewed by a district selection committee. This committee can include: Current district Rotary Peace Fellowships subcommittee chair, district governor, immediate past governor, governor-elect, or Rotary Foundation committee chair Three Rotarians or non-Rotarians with expertise in the field of peace or a related field.
