Before we selected Oracle, Ohio National had no history with Oracle Previous GL was client-server based with home grown financial reporting and budget/planning Current Footprint – ERP Cloud and Planning and Budget Cloud General Ledger Accounts Payable Fixed Assets Procurement Planning and Budget Cloud

Why did we choose Oracle and how does it Benefit Ohio National?
Wanted a cloud product Discipline on updating the system and customization Real Time Reporting Smartview and OTBI have become valuable tools for real time reporting Previously took updates to the system and some data would not be available for hours More Information and Data at Users finger tips Previously you could not get details such as the user who posted an entry, purchased items etc. Increased efficiency by identifying users actions and who to contact with questions

Why did we choose Oracle and how does it Benefit Ohio National?
Self-Service Procurement has allowed budget owners to be more in control of what they are purchasing Allows review of past orders in a “database” rather than a stack of paper Systematic Workflow Previously had paper copies of invoices signed as approval AP had a binder with rules of who could approve what Simplified approval process and implemented that process in Oracles workflow functionality

Obstacles Resistance to Change Regulatory Environment
“It has worked for years… why are we changing?” Regulatory Environment Full integration from siloed systems Steps required to integrate Procure to Pay Process Procurement, AP and Budget all had separate processes Users understanding that what they do on the front end can now effect 4 other modules/areas

Advice to Others Make sure to have a “Champion” and “Buy in” from leadership and users Have “Owners” of modules/areas to lead Make sure these employees want to do this and are not forced into a “owner” role DO NOT FORGET CHANGEMANAGEMENT Allow plenty of time for training Pick the right partner Interview the consultants to make sure they fit with company
