No pre-requisite to start a language, but all courses are rigorous and fast pace. After level one, a 80% average or higher is recommended to move on to the next level. Students can begin at level one at any point in their high school career. Students who begin a language in 9th grade are on track to complete the four year program including the AP course allowing them the option to take the AP exam. Even though foreign language is not required to graduate, it may be a requirement to have prior to entering college. The requirements vary depending on the college or university.
