Debbie: Introduction

Our Mission The Bloomington Future Leaders Program is a joint effort between Bloomington Public Schools and the Bloomington Chamber of Commerce. This program provides opportunities for Chamber members and students at local high schools to build relationships with each other and gain insight into different aspects of the businesses of Bloomington and the south metro area. Kim: Thank you, Debbie. We are thrilled to be here today to share with you the great work that we’ve been doing for some students in the business curriculum at Jefferson and Kennedy high school. First of all though, I’d like to thank the school board and Les Fujitake for supporting the Chamber of Commerce and the Bloomington Future leaders program. We believe we are making a difference in students’ lives and we couldn’t do it without the district’s support. Our mission is to provide opportunities for Chamber members and students at the high schools to build meaningful relationships with each other and gain insight into different aspects of the businesses of Bloomington and the south metro area.

In the past, I’ve been too scared to take some opportunities, but now I am trying harder to not let fear hold me back.” “The takeaway about living every day is important to me, as it encourages me to always make the most of even bad days.” “I will remember these things in the future because they are ideas that you can try to incorporate into your life and inspire you to make the most of opportunities that you are in, which lead you to new experiences.” Dan/Eric speaking
