Flower Tips! Roses: open early, strip the stems, give them a fresh cut, leave out of cooler so that they open Hydrangeas: soak petals under water if it wilts and the flower will perk back up Tulips: continue to grow after cut, follow the light source How to keep flowers alive longer: Keep the flowers cool (38°-40°), not in a refrigerator Cut stems diagonally about 1” from the bottom Use clean, lukewarm water Cut off all foliage below water line Transportation: Take the flower boxes to pack your vases in for delivery (cut “x” in top) Roses – Some wholesalers will do this for you “strip & dip” for $5 charge, can also manually and gently open petals Hydrangeas – Big Green Hydrangeas can be separated and dry beautifully
