Power-UP! Mrs. Carter has issued a challenge to each grade level to POWER UP their grades from now until May. The grade level with the most students earning A’s, B’s, and C’s will earn a party in May. Encourage your child to come to school each day POWERED UP to learn and to do THEIR personal BEST!

Power-UP Lunch Our 6th graders are getting a chance to "POWER UP" their academics during lunch. Students with missing work or work that needs to be completed has the opportunity to join Assistant Principal Caroline Whitt and classmates during lunch to work on their missing assignments. Students, at times, can work together!

Independent Reading Students are required to read at least two books independently each nine weeks. Students must complete an AR test (or bookadventure.org) test. Complete a project on the book. The templates can be found on the website.

Book It! Our sixth graders are signed up to participate in the Book It program through Pizza Hut. Students who meet their goal (set individually by their teacher) will receive a coupon for a free personal pan pizza at Pizza Hut.

What are the rules and procedures of the classroom?
Class Expectations Procedures Students are expected to come to class prepared and ready to learn each day. The following items MUST be brought to class daily: Agenda Pen/pencils Loose-leaf Paper Notebook/folder (with all notes inside) Any assignment(s) that may be due Come into the room quietly and sit in your assigned seat. Have out on your desk: notebook paper, composition book, writing utensil and agenda. Write down your homework in your agenda. Write down the EQ and complete the warm-up in your composition book. Sit quietly and wait for teacher’s instructions.
