10
Student Internet use and digital citizenship
Student devices will have secured access to the internet and browsers will route traffic through the District's content filters Students may realize more freedom when browsing at home than when at school during specific hours {still restricted, but a little more open, (e.g., game sites)}
11
Protect your devices and accounts
Keep all software (including your web browser) current with automatic update. Install legitimate antivirus and antispyware software. Never turn off your firewall. Protect your wireless router with a password, and use flash drives cautiously. think twice before you open attachments or click links on , instant messages or on social media, even if you know the sender. Lock your phone with a PIN to prevent others from making calls, texting, or accessing your personal information.
12
Be a good friend If you wouldn’t wear it (say, on a T-shirt), don’t share it. Stand up for your friends. Cyberbullies are less likely to target someone who has a strong group of friends, and usually stop when a victim’s friends rally around him or her. (Cyberbullies may be surprised to learn that their actions may be crimes.) Don’t share online personal details of friends and family members without their permission.
13

It is common industry practice to allow one one-warrantied accidental damage repair a year.

Damage and negligence includes but is not limited to: Intentional damage leaving a device unattended Leaving a device unsecured Exposing a device to unacceptable conditions such as exposure to any liquid or moisture of any kind Exposing a device to unacceptable conditions such as rain, extreme heat or cold

Points for consideration…
If you find a student device without the student label, the school technology specialist or media specialist can assist in identifying to whom it belongs Power adapters will get mixed up; it is important to ensure every child has one. Students will need access to charge their devices daily while at school, additional power strips can facilitate this. We encourage students to use a Laptop protective cover to carry their laptops from class to class We also encourage students to have a laptop friendly backpacks that provide sufficient protection to the device. Extra padding is provided to laptop friendly bags to decrease the likelihood of damaging the laptop.
22
Opting out Students may opt out of taking a laptop to and from home and school. They cannot opt out of using this educational tool during the instructional day. Each team will work with administration on securing the laptops for any student who has opted out. Students are allowed to bring their own Mobile learning device to school. CCSD will not be able to install software or provide any hardware support to Student-owned devices.
