Hospital Employment in the Great Lakes Bay Region
Number of current job openings as of March 2009: MidMichigan Medical Center, Midland - 77 St. Mary’s of Michigan, Saginaw - 66 Bay Regional Medical Center, Bay City - 22 Covenant Health Care, Saginaw - 60 Healthsource of Saginaw – 10 I think we were going to list the local hospitals and statistical employment need. I just entered the amount of openings at each institution eff 1/22. Do we want something more?????

High School course HS Teacher verifies grade College credit (may not transfer) No tuition costs No fees Many courses qualify DIRECT CREDIT Basically the same as above except cost for student Delta does not currently do this DUAL ENROLLMENT College course /w college students College instructor issues grade Transferable College credit HS pays tuition Student pays admission fee & purchases text 3 credit minimum

Course Met Expectations Math - some thought too easy most thought it was a good course Ethics – 10 said yes, 2 said no, 8 didn’t know what to expect Would you benefit more from the class if older or more experienced? Not asked in math class Ethics class 8 said yes, 14 said no *The 4 “traditional” students said they thought the younger students would benefit from having the course even at their young age

Observations from Math Instructor Students were: Prepared for the mathematics Overall hard workers Treated as college students (good/bad) Somewhat immature Students reported Liking the course Finding the course valuable

Observations from Instructors
Observations from the Ethics Instructor: Traditional Student wanted to change sections, did not and found it worthwhile CoOp positions helped immensely Observations from the Medical Term Instructor: Not ready or understanding online course Blend course and online test security a concern Observations from the Nursing Instructor: Students thinking they had “reached competency” in a number of skills (Some students not sure of value of course)
