Aims of 20 day placement To observe the use of nutritional expertise in a range of settings To acquire an understanding of the role of the professional nutritionist in practice To reflect on the relationships between other organisations and agencies and the nutritionist To evaluate how well organisations perform in meeting their objectives. To reflect on their own experiences in nutrition practice.

Intended learning outcomes
An understanding of the range of professional settings for nutritionists. An ability to practise nutrition safely, competently and within an approved framework of ethical and professional values. An ability to critically reflect upon nutrition practice in a variety of settings An ability to critically analyse the professional practice of self and others.

What do you need to be doing NOW?
Prepare CV and covering letter Find and confirm your placement Agree the following with the placement provider: Intended learning outcomes or Specific tasks Overview of what you are going to do Dates you will complete the placement Review the competency requirements yourself and map to the placement requirements on page 19 of handbook

Documentation to be submitted prior to start of placement on MyCareerHub(22nd June latest). To include: Learning agreement form include mapping of AfN competencies against your placement activity on learning agreement. Employer placement confirmation form Complete ethics training module on MyBU Learning agreement pack includes health and safety information for employer and student

Science Food chain Social behaviour Health and wellbeing Professional conduct You will not be expected to meet all of these. You may only meet a few but try to map what you expect to meet. Professional ethics (page 12) Complete ethics training tool on MyBU – Mycommunities – Level 5 Nutrition – Materials – Placement Complete the online test. 90% required to proceed to placement.
