Numeracy for Adult Learners
At McGraw-Hill Education, we understand that no two students learn alike, and no two adult education centers have exactly the same needs--especially when it comes to something as critical as math instruction—so why would we offer only one solution to choose from? We offer a comprehensive continuum of adult numeracy programs so whether you’re looking for conceptually strong, digitally-driven instruction, extra practice exclusively in print, or anywhere in between, McGraw-Hill Education has the right solution for you and each of your unique learners. A comprehensive continuum for math success
2
The Math Spectrums When thinking about which math program might be right for your center, there are four main spectrums to consider: What mode of instruction does your center utilize? Is there a specialist on staff that teaches math as a pull-out class, or do you provide more individualized learning opportunities? What format of learning do your students need most? Straightforward review and practice of math skills, or do they need to build a more in-depth, conceptually-based math foundation? What delivery model works with the logistics of your center? Print, digital, or a combination of both? And finally, what level of learners are you needing math instruction for? The chart here shows learner level in 3 ways to help you identify this need with whichever nomenclature your center uses—TABE level, Grade Equivalency Level, and the new CCRS leveling system.
3
McGraw-Hill Education offers a variety of math programs across all four of these spectrums. We also anticipate that not just one solution will be sufficient for your students’ wide range of learning levels and education goals, which is why many of our programs have been built with flexibility in mind, so they may be used as either a core instructional curriculum, or a strong supplemental resource. On the following slides, you’ll see a brief overview of each program, as well as where it sits on each of the spectrums, helping you align your student and instructor needs with the right programs for you.
