Work Group Purpose Identify Barriers Share Best Practices
Build on Successes Share Best Practices Incorporate Perspectives Develop Recommendations Address Technical Issues Multi-stakeholder Work Groups are charged with developing practical, actionable, operationally meaningful recommendations on issues and models that represent the best opportunity for accelerating adoption of APMs. Work Groups are composed of 14 to 16 experts who work over an intensive four-month period. Work Groups are tasked with addressing barriers to adoption and the critical technical components of payment models.

Work Groups Identifying and assessing barriers to adoption and outlining key steps toward the achievement of goals Maternity Multi-Stakeholder AC (MAC) Primary Care Payer AC (PAC) Payer Collaborative (PC) Alternative Payment Model Framework & Progress Tracking (APM FPT) AC Action Collaborative (AC) Primary Care Payment Models (PCPM) Clinical Episodes Payment (CEP) Population-Based Payment Models (PBP) Data Infrastructure (DI) Payment Reform Evidence Hub (PRE) The LAN’s Work Groups include: Alternative Payment Model & Progress Tracking (APM FPT), Payer Collaborative, Population-Based Payment (PBP), Clinical Episodes Payment (CEP), Primary Care Payment Model (PCPM), Payment Reform Evaluation Hub (PRE Hub), and the Action Collaboratives (AC) – Maternity Multi-Stakeholder (MAC) and Primary Care Payer (PAC). Further descriptions of each Work Group will be provided in the upcoming slides. When a work group is being set up, LAN participants are invited to submit applications or refer qualified individuals. For those not serving on a Group but with relevant expertise or interested in the topic, discussion boards of affiliated communities of experts are available for anyone interested to provide input and feedback to particular groups as the work evolves.

Work Group Updates Completed APM Framework (Work Group has sunsetted)
The Work Groups accomplish their work in defined sprints. The APM Framework Work Group was the first, followed by the CEP and PBP Work Groups and Payer Collaborative, all of which have recently completed their work. The LAN's new work focuses on evaluations, primary care payment models, data infrastructure, and action collaboratives.
