2. Is Obedience Essential for Salvation? What did the apostles say?
Peter said that Christians had purified their souls in obeying the truth! (1 Peter 1:22)
Paul said that Christians had been set free from sin by obeying a form of doctrine (Romans 6:17-18)
Peter warned of a terrible end for those “who do not obey the gospel” (1 Peter 4:17)
Paul said that when Jesus returns, He will take vengeance on those “who do not obey the gospel” (2 Thessalonians 1:8)

3. What is the relationship between WORKS and SALVATION?
We are not saved by doing works of the Law of Moses (Galatians 2:16; 3:16-27; 4:1-6)
We are not saved by performing works that earn salvation (Romans 4:2-5; 2 Timothy 1:9; Titus 3:4-5; Ephesians 2:8-9)
Our works will be used by the Lord to determine our eternal destinies (Matt. 16:27; Revelation 22:12; 20:13; 2 Cor. 5:10)
