Salvation Is of The Lord
2
Justification & Adoption: Made acceptable To God’s Family
3
WHAT IS JUSTIFICATION?
4
Simply put, to justify is to declare righteous, to make one right with God. Justification is God’s declaring those who receive Christ to be righteous, based on Christ’s righteousness being credited to the accounts of those who receive Christ.
5
3 FORMS OF LEGALISM Basically, legalism involves abstracting the law of God from its original context.
6
Some people seem to be preoccupied in the Christian life with obeying rules and regulations, and they conceive of Christianity as being a series of do’s and don’ts, cold and deadly set of moral principles.
7
This second type of legalism can be illustrated by the Pharisees who confronted Jesus over healing on the Sabbath day (Matt. 12:9–14). They were concerned only with the letter of the law and avoiding anything that might look like work to them.
8
The third type of legalism adds our own rules to God’s law and treats them as divine.
9
THE BENEFITS OF JUSTIFICATION

#2 - ACCESS
11
2 Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. – Rom 5:2

#3 JOY IN HOPE OF THE GLORY OF GOD
13
3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. – Rom 5:3
14
#4 JOY IN THE TRIBULATIONS OF LIFE.

ROMANS 5:3-5
16
What is adoption? The concept of adoption refers to being included in a family one was not born into. It is essentially relational.
17
#5 IT MEANS WE CAN RELATE TO GOD WITH INTIMACY.
18
So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves
So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” – Rom 8:15
20
#1 If salvation is not dependent upon us but is by grace alone through faith in Christ, does it matter how we live as Christians?
21
#2 It’s God’s purpose that we should be holy and blameless, too ambitious? How can those who were the children of the devil ever be holy?
