Click link in you received from the Midwest_Area Sites Page. This link will activate your account on the [statename].midwestnascoe.org page It will give you a password which you can change in your profile settings.

3 Login to the site with the your username and the password that was assigned when you clicked on the activation link. In the upper right hand corner, click on “Howdy, [username]” then choose “Edit My Profile.

4 On the Profile page, scroll down to Name section and complete the First Name, Last Name and preferred Display Name. WordPress will again generate a password that you can change by clicking in the box and typing a new password. Once you have chosen your new password, click update profile.

6 Posts Menu Here is where you can add short posts, aka blog entries.
Any posts that you publish will be displayed in the list. You can add a new post by either clicking Add New on the flyout menu, or by clicking the Add New button on the Posts page.

7 Add Title of Post Here Enter the body of your post here. You have a few editing functions on the toolbar. The drop down menu gives you several heading options as well as the default paragraph font, which is set by the themes.

8 This is the URL for your blog post.

9 Categories & Tags Categories are a way to organize blog posts to make it easier for readers to find. Each [StatePage] has been assigned one category – their state’s name. A category would be something broad – like Benefits. No tags have been established. You can enter words or short phrases, separated by commas, to help others find specific topics. A tag can narrow things to a more specific topic, like Working Advantage. Category lists and tag cloud widgets can be added to your page to direct readers to specific posts.

10 Layout There are several layout options available. The Scribbles Theme’s default layout is: Menu at the top Body at left Right Sidebar By clicking the Custom radio button, you can change the layout to any of the layouts provided.

11 Publish To check your post, you can choose the Preview Button, it will display how your post will look on the website. To come back to your post later, choose Save Draft. When you are satisfied with your post, choose Publish.

This is a Preview of the post. I’ve realized that I did not insert a Hyperlink for the midwestnascoe.org website. I can go back to the post and edit it.

13 Highlight the text that you want to Hyperlink.
Then click the “Insert/Edit link” button on the toolbar.

14 A box will pop-up, on the right hand side, click the gear button, to select Link options.

15 In the Insert/edit link box,
Paste the URL of the website you want it to direct toward. Enter, or ensure that the text you want is shown in the Link Text Box If you are directing people to another website, you may wish to choose the box, “Open link in a new tab”. This way they will be able to return to your page more easily. Once formatted as you’d like, click Add Link

16 Media Library The Media Library is where you can upload images or documents to your state page. You may access this page by choosing the Media link on the Sidebar menu, or by clicking the “Add Media” button on any post or page. To upload media to the Media Library, choose the Add New button at the top of the page.

17 Media Library You can either add photos by dragging and dropping from the file location of the image / document, or by choosing the Select Files button and navigating to the file location. Please note that any images or documents that you upload must be no larger than 3 MB. If you need assistance in re-sizing images or documents for upload, please contact Teresa Holmquist.

18 Pages Menu To update what is displayed on your page, choose All Pages on the flyout from the Pages Menu on the sidebar. Your state page is displayed on this list. Hover over the blue hyperlink and options will appear below the name. Choose Edit to update the page.

19 Look Familiar? You can choose to update your page from this menu, or you can choose the Page Builder option. Neither one is better or worse than the other, but Page Builder is a What You See Is What You Get builder.

20 Page Builder To go to Page Builder, choose the Page Builder tab.

21 Your State Page will open with the Page Builder toolbar at the top of the page

22 Click the Blue + sign to access the page options
Click the Blue + sign to access the page options. You will need to first insert rows to your page. You have several to choose from – click and drag the option you choose to the page. You will get blue dashed outline showing where your row will be.

23 Once you have added a row, you can begin to add modules to the rows
Once you have added a row, you can begin to add modules to the rows. As with the rows, you will need to drag and drop to move the module to where you want it in the row.

24 As you add each module, a pop-up window will appear for you to customize the text or image. If you are not sure what you want, you can always enter placeholder text or a placeholder image.

25 When you are finished editing, go back to the top of the page and choose Done.
The Done button will transform to three options: Discard Save Draft Publish Choose one of those three to exit Page Builder or Cancel to continue editing the page.

26 When you are done with your editing session,
Return to the upper right corner of the Dashboard and click on “Howdy, [username]” Then choose Log Out
