Who Were the Terra Cotta Warriors
They’re one of the oldest works of art, over 2,000 year old. They’re in China. People all over the word come to see them… Their name is… The Terra Cotta Warriors. 8,000 of these warriors made out of the clay terra cotta guarding the underground tomb of Zhang, who took the title as Sovereign Qin Emperor, or Qin Shi Huang Di. It took 700,000 worker 30 years to make the famous warriors and the underground tomb.

When & Where Were They Found?
In nineteen seventy-four, three farmers were digging a well near the city of Xian. The farmers found the head of a soldier made out of Terra Cotta. Over the years scientists discovered eight thousand more warriors, but not one is alike!

Did They Wield Weapons? Yes they did. To axes, bows and arrows, spears, cross bows, knives, and swords. Why did they wield weapons? Each Terra Cotta warrior wielded a weapon to protect Zhang or ( Qin Shi Huang Di) in the after life.

Why was it That Location?
The Terra Cotta Warriors were put in that location because they were near the Emperors underground tomb, and if they did come alive they would not be far from the tomb if robbers wanted to steal valuable things like jewelry made out of gold and diamond.

Why Were They so Famous? They were famous because, eight thousand warriors and horses made out of TERRA COTTA guarding one single underground tomb and also wielding weapons is pretty spectacular!
