Students should have a high degree of academic achievement, a high motivation for independent reading and writing, and intellectual creativity Vocabulary is enhanced through independent study called Wordly Wise.

Enrichment Enrichment focuses on non-fiction reading and research based writing. Each quarter supplements a different content area except for math so that students can further their literacy skills, knowledge, and concepts learned in language arts, social studies, and science. There are no advanced or on-level sections to this course. We all learn together! ENRICHMENT WAS DESIGNED TO INCORPORATE THE GEORGIA STANDARDS OF EXCELLENCE FOR WRITING AND LITERACY.

Characteristics of Advanced
Earth Science We explore the categories of hydrology, meteorology, geology, and astronomy. Students will learn in a variety of ways, especially through the use of technology and hands-on lab activities. Characteristics of Advanced We expect students to master the content more quickly to allow time for extension activities. Genuine drive of exploration is essential in advanced, for students will be encouraged to think critically and draw their own conclusions.
11
Characteristics of On-Level: Characteristics of Advanced:
Social Studies 6th Grade Social Studies is an overview of the human geography of the following areas: Europe Canada Australia Latin America Characteristics of On-Level: Guided through content in order to recall facts and attain understanding Reading and writing are incorporated into classroom activities and assessments Characteristics of Advanced: Students with high motivation Expectation is application and extension beyond content standards Higher level reading and writing are incorporated almost daily in classroom activities and assessments.

There are 3 levels of math:
On-level math follows the standard 6th grade curriculum. Advanced math follows the 6th grade curriculum at the higher rigor level and faster pace than on-level as well as adds 4 additional standards. Students who enjoy math while seeking higher level instruction and who are highly self motivated make good advanced math students. Accelerated math follows the 6th grade curriculum at a higher rigor level than advanced and includes ½ of the 7th grade curriculum. There are 3 levels of math: On-level Advanced Accelerated

Accelerated Math All students who have been recommended by their teachers to take advanced math are given a placement test at the end of 5th grade. As you can see that we are short a little over $10K for income
As you can see that we are short a little over $10K for income. Also, it appears that we have NOT spent near as much on “programs” as we planned as we have spent $24,000 less. However, in the center of the screen you see “budgeted items that have NOT been spent”, which is nearly $20,000. In total, as of last week, we are short nearly $5,000. We still have some work to do bring in some funds.

There is something for everyone. If you can just help us out for a couple of hours here at the school or do a few things from home we can use your support. When I 1st started coming to the school, my daughter was asking why I was there and not sure if she liked the idea or not. Now, she is asking me when I will be there next. I love it because she is always talking about so many of her friends, people that I have never met, and now by being at the school I know who they are and have learned much more about what is happening at the school. When you came in you should have received a volunteer form, which has a brief description on each of the responsibilities. Please consider supporting your child’s education and getting involved in some way. We need you and we have a ton of fun working together.
