Les accents (accent marks)
accent aigu (é): found only on an “e”; makes it sound like “ay” accent grave (è): found on “a”, “e”, or “u”; doesn’t really change pronunciation but can change meaning cédille (ç): found on a “c”: makes it sound like “ess” accent circonflexe (ô): found on all vowels; doesn’t change the pronunciation tréma (ï): found on all vowels; separates two vowels into two syllables
