3 1. Transportation Challenges
What impedes transportation in emerging economies?

4 The Problem To Solve None of the transportation information for lesser-developed countries is available in any central location Problem: Unreliable & inaccessible Information Tourists Outdated guidebooks and expensive shuttles Locals Rely on word of mouth Inter-city buses and other forms of transportation are the vital arteries of developing economies – tourism, business development, social networks None of the timetables are available in any central location. This inhibits tourism growth and general business growth Tourists wind up preferring more developed countries or relying on expensive tourist shuttles that are often foreign-owned Locals avoid trips on unfamiliar routes

5 “I've been the one waiting for the bus
“I've been the one waiting for the bus. I know what it means for a young student to [miss] class and [not] go home on time.” Leslie Ossete, winner of Hult Prize from the Clinton Global Initiative Enormous cost for developing world, and this problem can be solved!

6 What are consumers currently using?
2. The Marketplace What are consumers currently using?

7 The Competitive Landscape
Intra-City Routes More Developed Countries Inter-City Lesser Developed Countries The Competitive Landscape ChickenBus Complements: TripAdvisor, Bookings.com, Hotels.com, HostelWorld, Hostel Bookers, AirBnB, Atlas Obscura, etc. A number of companies and organizations are beginning to address the problem, but there are gaps remaining in the market. ChickenBus will penetrate the market by directly addressing this gap (Lesser developed countries, inter-city transportation routes). In addition, there are a number of companies that complement our market positioning. We will leverage these complementary companies in order to generate streams of revenue.

8 3. ChickenBus Differentiated Solutions
How can our platform solve customer problems?

9 Company Purpose Make transportation information from lesser developed countries available to tourists and locals over a website and mobile applications What ChickenBus does: We collect local transportation information (timetables, departures, arrivals, etc.), store them in our database, and make it available over a website and mobile applications Functionality will include multi-modal routing and route mapping Help users make the best decisions regarding their options

10 ChickenBus is the only company that is starting with lesser-developed countries and tapping into the demand that exists in Latin America, Africa, and Southeast Asia

11 Where to Target? Emerging economies are best-suited for ChickenBus solutions 3 key regions: Latin America (pilot market) Sub-Saharan Africa Southeast Asia

12 Use Case: Tourist Tim Adventurous Nervous Mobile Millennial
Change of plans: decides to meet up with new friends! Adventurous Comfortable with deviating from his itinerary Nervous Does not speak the local language! Mobile Millennial Travels with iPhone and tablet Relies on hotel and hostel wi-fi to stay connected Research at home for upcoming trip Trip begins! Find transportation options Link to book a new hotel Saved itinerary helps him travel around Flight delayed Unforgettable Trip! A nice example of how a user can take advantage of the functionality of ChickenBus: Prior to trip, a tourist uses the website to make some itineraries and see what transportation options are available between the stops on his trip. He can save this itinerary under his username and access it while on the trip from the app. Tourist Tim’s trip begins But oh no!, his flight is delayed and he misses the bus he was going to take to his first in-country destination Not a problem – he can just search for the next departure on the ChickenBus app Continues to use his saved itinerary to confidently travel around the country Tourist Tim makes some new friends and decides to meet up with them in a city he was not planning on visiting He uses the app to figure out his transportation options, and he sees a link for hotels or hostels in his new destination. Through the link he makes a booking and ChickenBus earns a commission. Tourist Tim continues to use ChickenBus through his trip and all the way home, and thank to ChickenBus has an unforgettable trip! App helps find next bus departure, since he missed the one he planned on taking

13 Where are we now and where are we going?
4. ChickenBus Strategy Where are we now and where are we going?

14 Of critical importance to ChickenBus is content – I need to be able to collect the public transportation information, get it into my database, and keep it up to date as timetables change. Three options: Ask government authorities for the information Get the data from other databases that may have some of it, for certain countries Fill in the gaps by paying people to go around the countries and actually collecting the information from bus stops Estimates of costs, by country, if we were to pay people to acquire the information for us
