1 BeAScout.org Unit Pin Management

2 Log in to your my.Scouting account
From my.scouting.org. Log in to your my.Scouting Tools account There are links to help if you have forgotten your username or password. Log in to your my.Scouting account

3 Your Menu bar -on the left may look different
according to the “Tools” appropriate for your Registered scouting Position & validated training.

4 From the Menu at the top left of the page, select “Legacy Web Tools” and then BeAScout.
*If BeAScout is Not an option or will Not Load, your account may not be appropriately Linked to your unit; contact the COUNCIL OFFICE if you have Never entered the system before they are there to help.

5 The Unit Pin Management Tool shows
IF & HOW the Unit is displayed in BeAScout,org The Unit Pin Management tools should open and look similar to this. It will show you both IF and HOW the unit is currently displayed on BeAScout.org.

6 And New Member Applications
Track Leads And New Member Applications Additional Tabs allow Unit Leaders to manage any prospective members aka “LEADS” & New Scout Member Applications from BeAScout.org.

7 If you want your Unit to be Visible on the Map
the Unit Pin Must be Set to Active. This unit’s Pin Status is set to Inactive & therefore will Not display on BeAScout.org. If you want your unit to be visible to Prospective Members & parents, your Unit Pin must be set to Active. The Apply status is for Online Applications to be allowed

8 a Preview of the Unit Pin
As you proceed a Preview of the Unit Pin is shown at the bottom of the page to see how it will look to a BeAScout.org visitor This unit’s Pin has also been set to “Council Mode”, which means that all leads and unit information are set to the Council Defaults. Select “Unit Mode” to fill the fields or Edit your information. As you proceed, a Preview of your unit pin is shown at the bottom of the page, so you can see how your changes will look to a BeAScout.org visitor.

9 Add a website or Facebook page! “Fields Displayed On Unit Pin”
Select Contacts from your Unit Roster Remember to check the boxes from “Fields Displayed On Unit Pin” Now that the unit is in the proper Mode, you can select a Point of Contact for any Information Requests that are sent to your unit. Council puts Unit registered Key-3 members as the default –If you are Not receiving notices, or a Name does not Appear, Contact the council office You can Add a unit Website, Facebook, Meeting location, alternate contact info, & Customize the Unit description. Just Remember to “Check the Fields Displayed” boxes at the bottom left. Only those items that are selected will be displayed in the preview.

10 Your selected contacts
Save, Save, Save! Your selected contacts will receive at the prospects’ request through BeAScout.org Follow up through the Unit Lead Management & Application Managers! Don’t forget to click Save when you are done -make sure your work gets added to BeAScout.org! Now you have added custom information, so interested parents can learn more about the unit & feel welcome. The Assigned unit Contacts will receive notification when prospective members request info, and will be able to follow up using the Unit Lead Management system, which is accessed at the top of this page.
