2 SAT/Testmasters Classroom course – 12 classes w/ 300 pt. score improvement guarantee along w/ 1200 pages of course material and official College Board practice exams taught by a live teacher = $749 individual or $649 per person at group rate Private One-on-one course – all of the above except cost is $1199, additional students cost 50% Online course – all of the “classroom” benefits except online for $699 for the individual, $599 per person at group rate

SAT prep books College Board/SAT website, app’s for mobile devices SAT vocabulary– 100 words by the end of the school year during 9th, 10th, and 11th grade levels – words are meant to be learned not memorized – 300 words in addition to prep books and digital resources

Sample Entry SAT Vocabulary 1st Six Weeks Ascend – to move upward, to rise from a lower station synonym – climb antonym – fall Notes – (sentence, reference made in class, etc.) Parts of Speech – ascend (v), -sion (n), -ancy (n) Strategy – (copy the strategy introduced or rehearsed)

(Key word) I (Information) M (Memory Cue) Write the actual vocab word or another word that relates – YOUR CHOICE Write the actual definition or YOUR version of the definition – YOUR CHOICE Draw a picture that visually reminds you of the intent of word, something that helps you UNDERSTAND the word – YOUR CHOICE

(Key word) I (Information) M (Memory Cue) mountain To move up from below Take a step further: Put these on note cards to help you study. Make sure the vocabulary word is NOT your Key Word. Record the official word on the other side for individual study.

8 Strategy #2 – Fishbone Vocabulary word - capricious
INCONSTANT MERCURIAL UNSTABLE CAPRI CIOUS STEEL CONSTANT STABLE NOTE: If the word has a prefix, put the root word on the tail and the prefix on the head to keep the spelling order. If that doesn’t bother you, leave it as it is above and label the tail prefix or suffix.

Actual Word Prediction Actual Definition Because the word has “antique” in it, expecting the word to deal with old things only makes sense. OBSOLETE, OUT OF FASHION, NO LONGER USABLE ANTIQUATED
