Statistics of school uniform use:
The number of public schools requiring school uniforms went from 13% in the school year to 19% in the school year.
20% of public elementary schools and 12% of secondary schools required school uniforms in the school year.
Mandatory uniforms are used more in “high poverty” schools (where 76% of students were able to get reduced-cost or free lunch” than in “low poverty” schools
Schools with highest use of uniforms: Philadelphia (100% of schools), New Orleans (95%), Cleveland (85%), Chicago (80%), Boston (65%), and Miami (60%).
