Research: in the space below find textile examples of 6 different surface decoration techniques. Include annotation explaining how the surface decoration has been completed. Alexander Mac Queen, sleeve detail. Fabric has been printed using sublimation or heat transfer.

Decorative Processes Using Notes and diagrams explain how to complete a decorative technique. List all the equipment and resources that you would need to use. Make sure you specify techniques in your designs that you are confident to explain.

Pattern Doodle patterns and colours … Using the mood board create pattern repeats and motif ideas. You should show some indication of colour

Initial Design Ideas Sketch two different initial design ideas for a textile product. DO NOT USE COLOUR The Textile product must: •Be based on the theme ‘Marine Life’ •Include a range of decorative Techniques •include a range of fabrics and components There are 6 marks for each design idea. Marks will be given for: •Creativity and originality of idea based upon the theme. 2 Marks •Use of a range of decorative techniques Marks •Quality of Notes and sketches Marks Choose one of your design ideas for development.

Final Design DESIGN CHECKLIST
Use sketches, labelling and notes to present a final design in colour for your product. Use the next two pages to show your textile product in a presentation drawing. Marks will be given for: Use of the marine life theme ( 2 Marks ) Use of fabrics and components ( 5 Marks ) Creativity and quality of design ( 4 Marks ) Effective use of colour ( 2 Marks ) Quality of presentation including different views of the garment ( 3 Marks ) DESIGN CHECKLIST Components and fabrics used Use of the theme – Marine Life Colours to be used, properties of the fabrics Style and shape of the product Seams, hems other construction techniques Close up detail sections, front and back views Names of the decorative techniques and how to complete them. Suitability to the end user
