5 PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT SERVICES – FY15 BUDGET GOALS
Implement the St. Lucie Co. Comprehensive Plan elements by updating and modifying the Land Development Code (LDC). Provide high quality, timely, accurate and professional customer service on all development-related issues, from simple building permits to Developments of Regional Impact (DRI’s). Encouragement of small business growth and development through the Planning Division’s new complimentary outreach program, Site Development Assistance for small commercial projects under 6,000 sq. ft., and continued implementation of ordinance (Waivers Deferrals and Alternatives, WDA). Implement and maintain a concurrency management system for services. Review and process applications for all development applications. Initiate a greater emphasis on Long Range Planning efforts. Implementation of the Towns, Villages, and Countryside Plan. Coordinates the County impact fee program

7 Doral Boulevard Beautification Master Plan addressed issues both of the planning and beautification nature. The plan established the guidelines for urban development fronting the boulevard, determining building heights, massing characteristics, sidewalk amenities. CGA and Lambert Advisory prepared a Corridor Redevelopment Study that included redevelopment strategies and conceptual plans to increase economic development and attract new businesses. This sustainable commercial redevelopment plan included the creation of sub-districts along City Corridors for focused alternative redevelopment scenarios. South Pasadena Avenue assessment of land use, traffic, and economic conditions relative to the redevelopment opportunities recognizing that formulating a coherent and viable redevelopment strategy for the corridor hinges on changing the character and functionality of the roadway itself.
