ART Challenger painting a pastiche
AB HOT m –The finished pastiche is so accurate that you can hardly distinguish between my painting and the original print. m -I can say who, when ,what ,why and how this artist made the work. GD -I have used the correct brushes to control edges and tones with accuracy and detail. GD - Every colour is matched exactly to the original. GD- I have made an accurate under drawing. AT MED I have made an accurate line drawing of my selected part of the famous painting. I have matched the colours accurately to the original. The tones could be blended slightly better to make the painting look 3D. I can explain who, when and what the title is on this piece of work. WT COOL I have made a fairly accurate line drawing of my selected part of the famous painting. I need to spend more time matching the colours and controlling the paint to make smooth tones. I know what a pastiche is.

ART Challenger Planning my final piece HOME LEARNING
Art Home learning year 8 2 weeks due date – the art lesson week commencing 18th June . ART Challenger Planning my final piece HOME LEARNING AB Ensure your final piece clearly links with your sketchbook work. Ensure your final piece links clearly with your artist research within your sketchbook. Be ambitious, but choose materials and techniques that you feel particularly confident using. Plan each lesson well - we have 6 lessons left- the time will race by. Perhaps write down a time plan, showing how they intend to complete the work hour by hour. Carefully consider the scale of the work to make sure you can complete a quality piece of work within the allotted time. Initial ideas and response to the theme (spider diagrams and quick notes or drawings). Drawing (from observation in a variety of materials) and photographs. Experimentation and developing ideas for a final piece. AT MED Your final piece clearly links with your sketchbook work. Your final piece links clearly with your artist research within your sketchbook. Think about how big the final piece will be- will you be able to finish it in 6 lessons? Gather images to work from both drawings and printed images or books with images in. WT COOL You have drawn a rough plan in your sketchbook labelled foreground, middle and background. Or a rough plan of the shapes within an abstract composition. You have found a few images from either books or internet to use to work from in lessons and you have glued them in your sketchbook.

GCSE FINAL PIECE 10 HOUR EXAM
Preparatory studies Like your coursework, the preparatory studies for your final exam are worth 75 per cent of your marks. In your studies, it's important to: Plan your time effectively. Work in a methodical way through your project. Use a variety of materials when drawing from observation - pencil, pen, chalk, oil pastel and watercolour, for example. Be imaginative with the layout and presentation of your work. Annotate your work to describe why you have done things and how you could develop them further. Ensure your work links to that of other artists. Make sure you note where an image has come from if you have found a relevant photograph on the internet or in a magazine. Spend time considering your final piece, by doing a wide variety of design ideas and experimentation to refine and improve your ideas. Don't throw away anything. All the work you do - even unfinished pieces - could be important to demonstrate an understanding of the assessment objectives. Ensure you have covered the first three assessment objectives within your sketchbook work. Experiment!
