2. THE PRODUCTION PROCESS The production process refers to the stages or phases that are required to complete a film, from the idea to the finished product. This process can be applied to any type of media product but I will be focusing on the film aspect. The three main stages of production are 1.Pre-production: Planning, scripting & storyboarding, etc. 2.Production: The actual shooting/recording of the film. 3.Post-production: Everything between production and creating the final copy.

3. THE PRODUCTION PROCESS: PRE- PRODUCTION Pre-production involves all the work necessary to plan a film. It is the process of preparing all the elements involved in a film. Pre-production ends when the planning ends. Storyboarding: Drawings of the numerous shots that make up a scene in a film Casting: Choosing certain actors to play certain roles. Production design: Researching and creating sets as well as costumes and makeup.

4. THE PRODUCTION PROCESS: PRODUCTION Production is the actual shooting/recording of a film. There are many different roles that people have during production, such as: Property master, script supervisor, assistant directors, stills photographer, picture editor, and sound editors. These are just some of the many roles that go into the production of a film.

5. THE PRODUCTION PROCESS: POST- PRODUCTION Post-production is the work completed once filming ends. The film is edited, including audio and visual editing. Foleys Etc…

7. FOLEY Foley is the reproduction of sound that is added to films in the post-production phase Foley-stage or Foley-studio are where Foley is created and produced Foley normally goes unnoticed to the standard viewer. Most viewers think that the sound they are hearing is coming from where the actual set of the film.

8. CAMERA ANGLES A camera angle is used to position the viewer so that we can understand and give more depth. There are many types of camera angles, such as: Birds eye High angle Eye level angle Etc…

9. SHOT SIZES Similar to camera angles. It tries to position the viewer to give depth. Unlike angles, shot sizes focus is on the space between what the producers want to see and what is in the camera. There are many shot sizes. E.g. -Close up - Medium shot -Long shot

10. STORY BOARDING Story boards are rough sketches outlining the scene sequence. They put the script into a picture allowing more detail to be shown so there is a greater understanding of how the film will play out. They are used to make major changes of action or changes to the plot in a production
