1 Moses Sunday June 17th, 2012

2 The Pharaoh’s daughter picked up Moses from the water and took him as her son. He lived in the palace for 40 years and had a good education because he was living with the Pharaoh. His mother ‘Jochebed’ was nursing him and she taught him to love God and love His people, the Hebrews.

3 One day when Moses was out checking on his people, he saw a fight
One day when Moses was out checking on his people, he saw a fight. An Egyptian and a Hebrew were fighting so Moses took the side of the Hebrew and the Egyptian died in the fight.

4 “Who made you a prince and a judge over us?
On the second day, he went out again and saw two hebrews fighting. He said to the one who was at fault, why are you fighting your friend. You are both Hebrews and you should not be fighting. The man replied and said. “Who made you a prince and judge over us? Do you intend to kill me as you killed the Egyptian? “Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you intend to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?”

5 Moses Zipporah Gershom Eliezer
Moses became afraid. He was afraid that the Pharaoh would hear about this and he would want to kill him. So Moses ran away from the Pharaoh and lived in the land of Midian in the east of Egypt. There Moses met Jethro, the priest of Midian and married his daughter Zipporah. Zipporah means bird. Moses had two sons named Gershom and Eliezer. Moses lived there for 40 years tending the flock of Jethro, his father-in-law. Eliezer

6 After 40 years, God asked Moses to leave Midian and go to Egypt to save the Israelites. The Israelites were under the rule of the Egyptians and conditions were getting worse for them. They cried out to God to save them and in response God sent them Moses.

7 After a long struggle with Pharaoh, God brought the Israelites out of Egypt.
When Moses was in the wilderness with his people, Jethro came out to see him and brought Moses’s wife and kids with him. Moses told Jethro about all what had happened and that is when Jethro said...

8 ... Now I know that the Lord is greater than all the gods; for in the very thing in which they behaved proudly, He was above them. Exodus 18:11. He meant this because the Egyptians used to worship Gods like the Nile and the Sun. This proved that Moses`God was more powerful.
