Lessons from Isaiah Faith Without Sight
Do not exercise your doubts. Exercise your faith. R. S. Barrett July 29, 2018

Isaiah 63:16 For You are our Father, though Abraham does not know us, and Israel does not acknowledge us; You, O LORD, are our Father, our Redeemer from of old is Your name.

1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

Mark 14:23-24 And He took a cup, and when He had given thanks He gave it to them, and they all drank of it. And He said to them, “This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For our sake He made Him to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

Isaiah 64:1 Oh that You would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains might quake at Your presence

Exodus 13:22 The pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night did not depart from before the people.

Exodus 32:4 And he received the gold from their hand and fashioned it with a graving tool and made a golden calf. And they said, “These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt!”

Numbers 20:11 And Moses lifted up his hand and struck the rock with his staff twice, and water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their livestock.

Numbers 21:5 And the people spoke against God and against Moses, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we loathe this worthless food.”

John 21:25 Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.

Revelation 9:20-21 The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands nor give up worshiping demons and idols of gold and silver and bronze and stone and wood, which cannot see or hear or walk, nor did they repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.

Isaiah 64:1-2 Oh that You would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains might quake at Your presence - as when fire kindles brushwood and the fire causes water to boil— to make Your name known to Your adversaries, and that the nations might tremble at Your presence!

Isaiah 64:3 When You did awesome things that we did not look for, You came down, the mountains quaked at Your presence.

John 20:29 Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen Me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Isaiah 64:4-5 From of old no one has heard or perceived by the ear, no eye has seen a God besides You, who acts for those who wait for Him. You meet him who joyfully works righteousness, those who remember You in Your ways. Behold, You were angry, and we sinned; in our sins we have been a long time, and shall we be saved?

Isaiah 64:4-5 From of old no one has heard or perceived by the ear, no eye has seen a God besides You, who acts for those who wait for Him. You meet him who joyfully works righteousness, those who remember You in Your ways. Behold, You were angry, and we sinned; in our sins we have been a long time, and shall we be saved?

Isaiah 40:28-31 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might He increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

John 6:28-29 Then they said to Him, “What must we do, to be doing the works of God?” Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him Whom He has sent.”

James 2:17-19 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!

For Our Consideration Do you believe that Jesus is the Savior and died for your sins? Will you believe in Him even if you never experience a supernatural event? What does waiting on God mean? What has God asked you to do?

Prayer Focus Thank You Father for a new life in Jesus through the Blood Covenant. Thank You for giving us Your Word and Holy Spirit. Thank You for life now and forever.
