1 Classroom Expectations
Middle Grade Science Mrs. Bhandari

2 All About Me I am Mrs. Indira Bhandari. You can call me Mrs. Bhandari, or simply Mrs. B. I have worked at Middle Schools Since I was a Webmaster for around 10 years before I decided to change my profession to teaching. I live at Cary, North Carolina with my husband for 23 years. My son is starting college at NC State University as a Goodnight Scholar. In my free time, I like to design and develop websites, read books, watch TV, and listen to music. My favorite science field is Chemistry.

4 LISTEN FOR INSTRUCTIONS
As soon as you enter the school building, all personal electronic devices should be turned off and put away for the school day.

5 Grading Grades are based on the accumulation of points.
Points are based on: Class participation (effort) Completion of assignments (daily work) Major projects, exams, and self-reflection Grades are posted online and updated as soon as possible. Our Grading Scale 93-100% = A 85-92% = B 77-84% = C 70-76% = D Below 60% = F There is a school-wide “NO ZERO” policy in effect. The minimum grade a student can receive is 60%.

6 All assessments are grades the same.
Summative assessments Test Labs/Projects Formative assessments Interactive notebook Classwork/Participation Quizzes Warm-Ups Homework All assessments are grades the same.

7 Policies Food and beverages are NOT allowed in the classroom. Absences
Ask team members or a classmate first for assignments. Each absence has a one-day grace period. Any work that was due the day I was absent is due when I RETURN TO CLASS. What happens if I forget an assignment at home, leave it in my locker, or just don’t do it at all? I will earn a ZERO on that assignment. When should I see Mrs. Bhandari for extra help? I should ask questions during CLASS when we have time to work on assignments or make arrangements to come in AFTER SCHOOL. I should not wait until an assignment is DUE to ask for help.

8 PRIDE “The happy satisfied feeling somebody experiences when having or achieving something special.” When did you feel a sense of pride?
