2 Once connected, you will be able to:
Employer Internet has been introduced to allow employers to connect to the Pension Fund’s administration system. Once connected, you will be able to: View, create and amend your employees pension records Perform Benefit Calculations Produce & View documents

3 Employers Internet How does it work?

4 Connections are made to the Pension Fund’s system via the internet.
To use the system you will need a web browser and Microsoft Word on your PC.

5 The Pensions Unit will install software onto your PC to allow access and will arrange for you to be given user names and passwords. The system is ‘encrypted’ for total security.

6 Full training will be given on how to use the system.
You will be given a contact name and telephone number for help and support in using the system

7 Employers Internet How will it benefit me?

8 You will no longer have to complete starter forms or variation forms for your employees.
You will be able to enter details of new starters directly onto the pensions system and make personal changes or contractual changes directly to that employees record.

9 You will be able to resolve the majority of employee queries about pension matters.
You will be able to check that the correct start date and hours worked have been input to ensure that the correct service has been given. Checking that the employees dates and hours worked are correct also prevents the Pensions Unit having to send you Service forms to complete.

10 You will be able to produce pension estimates yourself.
Once you have checked an employees record to ensure that the service and pay are correct you will be able to calculate their estimated pension and the costs, if any, to the employer.

11 You will no longer have to complete leaver forms for your employees.
You will be able to enter leaving details directly onto the employee record.

12 After you have input leaving details the system will automatically notify the Pensions Unit that action is needed. This will ensure that the pension benefits are calculated and the employee notified far quicker than under the old paper system.

13 You will save time and money.
By accessing the employees actual pension record you only need to input / amend the details that have changed. This is far quicker than completing the relevant forms, which then need putting into envelopes and posting . Electronic transfer of data saves time and money.
