2. Key milestones for PH reform
Health and Social Care Bill is going through Public Bill Committee stage in the House of Lords
The Government’s Mandate to the NHS CB will set expectations of the NHS, including ambitions for reducing preventable mortality.
In late 2012, an agreement with NHS CB will enable NHS delivery of services funded from the ring-fenced PH budget, such as national screening and immunisations programmes.
PHE will become operational in April 2013
LAs will be told shadow PH allocations in December 2011

NHS Health Checks will be funded from the Public Health budget and responsibility transferred to LAs from April 2013
