2 In 1972, Lions made a commitment to preserve the environment.

3 In 2004, the new Lions Environmental Photo Contest showcased the beauty of nature.

4 Every Lion can enter a photo of: animal life plant life an urban/natural landscape weather phenomenon A special annual theme

5 Club contests can be organized during September, October, November, or December club meetings.

6 The winning club-level photo is submitted to the district-level competition.

7 January 15 is the deadline for districts to submit one winning photo as an 8 x 10 (20.3 x 25.4 cm) print to the multiple district contest.

8 March 1 is the deadline for multiple districts to submit one winning photo as an 8 x 10 (20.3 x 25.4 cm) print to Lions International Headquarters.

9 International convention attendees judge the photos. Winners receive engraved awards. The winning photos appear on the Lions Web site.

10 Photos illustrate a multi-lingual 12-month Lions Environmental Photo Contest Calendar.
