2 Who is SRNS Background and Who We Are
Public Sector – SRNS is the Management Contractor for the Dept. of Energy (DOE) Savannah River Site near Aiken, SC. Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC. (SRNS) is the Management and Operating Contractor for the Department of Energy (DOE) Savannah River Site (SRS) near Aiken, SC.

3 Who is SRNS The DOE’s 310-square-mile SRS is located in the central Savannah River region of South Carolina. The Site has over 15,000 acres devoted to industrial facilities, research laboratories and supporting infrastructure.

4 Who is SRNS Dedicated to maintaining the highest possible safety and security standards, the SRS is a key DOE industrial complex responsible for environmental stewardship, environmental cleanup, waste management and disposition of nuclear materials. More specifically, SRS processes and stores nuclear materials in support of national defense and US nuclear nonproliferation efforts. The Site also develops and deploys technologies to improve the environment and treat nuclear and hazardous wastes left from the Cold War.

5 Overview SRNS uses PeopleSoft 9.2 as its ERP Software and has a requirement to maintain lifetime records on nuclear quality level procurement transactions. Procurement holds a vast quantity of hard copy records, which have been created in the conduct of our business over the years. Approximately 1,000,000 Document Files Stored in large file rooms waiting to be scanned into official document management system (Documentum / EDWS)

6 Overview These records represent our corporate memory, providing historical evidence of our decisions and actions. They support our daily functions and operations by contributing to policy formulation and decision-making and by acting as a reference. Procurement Users need the ability to maintain electronic records to secure the maintenance and control, storage and disposal, and provide an opportunity for operational efficiency

7 Hardware Considerations
Analysis revealed that SRNS had adequate hardware computing resources. Desktop scanners - Fujitsu model Fi-6110 600-dpi optical resolution with dual-CCDs to capture minute details 50-page automatic document feeder with double-feed detection 20 ppm (simplex) / 40 ipm (duplex) scanning in monochrome and color
