Tundra There are two types of tundra: Alpine Tundra and Arctic Tundra
World’s coldest biome Dry and little rainfall Long winter Short Summer Permafrost- permanently frozen ground Polar Bears Caribou Arctic Foxes Tundra Permafrost- layer of ground underneath the topsoil which is permanently frozen (never defrosts).

Taiga Taiga is russian for “Forest”
Known as the Coniferous Forest or Boreal Forest Cold but not as cold as Tundra Largest Biome Long winters Evergreen Trees American Black Bear Needle-leafed Trees Bobcats Gray Wolves Red Foxes River Otters Evergreen Tree leaves always stay green and do not fall of like Deciduous trees. The Taiga biome is below the Tundra biome. Taiga covers 11% of the Earth
