With a dealer net worth of $23.4 billion, the leading exporter collaborates with 175 dealers to help customers develop infrastructure, energy, and natural resource assets. Challenge Dealers had limited visibility into the inventory of key parts required to create products for customers. As a result, unnecessary time were spent calling other dealerships in search for those parts. If not found, the parts would be manufactured again, leading to extra manufacturing costs. Solution Caterpillar partnered with Infor to leverage a digital visibility platform which enables dealers to search for parts and have visibility on land for shipments. Dealers can benefit from better tracking visibility and use geofencing and GPS to determine how far they are away from their final destination.
