YOU HAVE 30 MINUTES TO COMPLETE NOT COUNTING SET UP OF SUPPLIES
MAKE SURE ALL SUPPLIES ARE HANDY BEFORE YOU BEGIN. CHECK BEDSIDE STANDS
FIVE SKILLS TESTED (5 Possible combinations)
One WILL BE HANDWASHING
One WILL BE A MEASUREMENT SKILL (Measure Urine, Pulse, Respirations, Weight)
SAY YOU WOULD WASH YOUR HANDS BEFORE RECORDING MEASUREMENT SKILLS

NOT NECESSARY TO WEAR GLOVES WHEN DOING OCCUPIED BED CHANGE
AMBULATION IS DONE WITH A GAIT BELT-A WALKER IS NOT USED-TRANSFER IS CONSIDERED A SEPARATE SKILL
FOOT CARE DONE WHILE PERSON SITTING-BASIN IS PUT ON FLOOR ON A BARRIER
SAFE & COMFORTABLE MEANS BACK IN BED

SIDE RAILS MUST BE USED IF BED IN HIGH POSITION OR IF PT ROLLING TO SIDE
IF YOU CATCH A MISTAKE-TELL EVALUATOR AND YOU WILL BE ABLE TO RESTART
IF YOU DON’T KNOW HOW TO USE EQUIPMENT-OK TO ASK EVALUATOR
HOLD AND SUPPORT TUBE AT ALL TIMES FOR CATH CARE

IF PULSE IS VERY FAST SAY “I THINK AN RN IS NEEDED TO TAKE THIS PULSE”
ASK EVALUATOR IF YOU CAN DESIGNATE A START AND STOP TIME ON THE CLOCK. YOU MUST STILL SAY “START” AND “STOP” AT THE DESIGNATED TIME
USE FOUR-FOLD WASH CLOTH. YOU MUST RINSE & DRY. NEED PAD/TOWEL UNDER THE BUTT
MALE PERI CARE IS NOT TESTED

Must remove gown, then dress
