WSU’s Information Systems
You have already used MyWSU (formerly “Zzusis”) during the application process to WSU. You will continue to interact with this system throughout your graduate career for registration, grading, and financial aid. Additionally, as a student in the College of Nursing, you will use E*Value software, a system for managing and recording most aspects of the clinical training portion of your graduate education. Upon admission, you will be given a WSU network ID and a WSU account. If you have not yet activated your network ID and account, please go to the Newly Admitted section of the website and scroll down to the “Technology Requirements” listed for your program for detailed instructions on how to do so. You will also receive a login and password to E*Value upon your acceptance of admission which will be sent to you via your WSU account. You will continue to receive information from E*Value via your WSU account as well. NOTE: Effective fall 2015, ALL official WSU communication must be sent to students’ WSU address If you have been using another “preferred” account for E*Value, this will be changed to your WSU account shortly. (If you have not received your login and password information within three weeks of accepting admission, please contact the graduate office at or ) 08/10/2017 (Click to advance to next slide throughout this presentation) Back to Menu

Managing Your As you can see from the last slide, your WSU account is essential to receiving communications regarding your program and you will need to check it often to be sure you aren’t missing something important. Like most of us, however, you probably already have a favorite account where you also frequently check for messages from and about your life outside WSU. A best-practice solution to avoid constant checking of s in more than one place is to forward your WSU to that favorite account so that all messages end up in the same place. If you decide this is how you want to handle communications, instructions for forwarding your WSU messages are found in the next slide. Please keep in mind that the ability of WSU and the College of Nursing to get important information to you is dependent on you receiving your s via your WSU account. 08/10/2017 (Click to advance to next slide throughout this presentation) Back to Menu

Your Passport The WSU Graduate Student passport is a set of requirements that the student must keep current from the first day of school until graduation. The WSU student passport requirements are determined by a regional consortia, which is comprised of healthcare organizations, educational institutions and other entities. The consortia has many functions, one of which is to set the ‘passport’ requirements, a foundational set of preclinical requirements for nursing programs in the region. The ultimate goal of these requirements is to protect the health and safety of both the student, and the patients and staff the student comes into contact with during their learning experiences at WSU CON. The consortia reviews evidence based data and best practices in the healthcare industry, making changes to the passport requirements annually. We have contractual obligations with our healthcare partners/clinical sites to adhere to the requirements in the passport set forth by the coalition. 08/10/2017 (Click to advance to next slide throughout this presentation) Back to Menu

What’s Next? 08/10/2017 This presentation covers most of what you need to know about fulfilling student requirements prior to starting your first year. Training #2 reviews biographic fields and passport items but is primarily designed to help you through the process of locating and then requesting sites for your clinical placements in year 2. You can check it out now just to see what lies ahead, but you should view it carefully 4 to 6 months in advance of starting rotations. The clinical placement coordinator at your campus will work with you to find placement, but many sites fill quickly and if a chosen site does not have a current contract, it can take three to four months at minimum to get a contract in place. Avoid the stress and plan ahead! Back to Menu
