What was it? The constitutional act/The canada act was the british parliament dividing quebec into lower and upper canada.

The consequences The consequence was a result of Quebec getting divided into lower and upper Canada.

Why was upper and lower canada made ?
The result was the Constitutional Act of 1791.The government had divided the Province of Quebec into Lower Canada (that reaches the St. Lawrence River) and Upper Canada, along the Ontario-Québec boundary.

Why did it happen? The constitutional act was a step towards the Canadian Confederation, Its rigid colonial structures also set the stage for the rebellion in the two canadas.

Did anything change? There were two people looking after upper and lower canada Upper and lower canada was a success and quebec was divided The population change drastically

Changes in population In 1806 lower canada's population was 25,000. In the same year upper canada's population was about 55,000. In the year 1841 lower canada's population increased hugely to 680,000!. And upper canada's population increased to 430,000.
