3 Mental Health in our School
Approximate 4,200 total Students 750 student received School Based Mental Health Support ( grant year) 42 Community Services Providers operating out of our schools 63.3% of Community Based Mental Health Service referrals from the school resulted in services 83.5% of School Based Mental Health Service referrals from the school resulted in services Over 200 people trained in Youth Mental Health First Aid We are committed to training all school staff by 2020

4 Positive Trends Pride Survey
% of PCHS students (grades 9-12) who report using alcohol in the past 30 days:  has decreased from 35.4% to 28.8 % since 2011 % of PCHS students (9-12) who report using tobacco in the past 30 days:  has decreased from 28.4% to 23.7% since 2011 % of PCHS students (9-12) who report smoking marijuana past 30 days:  has decreased from 24.1% to 20.2% since 2011

5 Student Assistance Program (SAP)
This team is a broad-based, flexible approach of prevention services and interventions that work across all tiers with the goal to build resiliency in youth while empowering them for academic and emotional success. Strives to promote academic, social, and emotional well-being. Identify, refer, and engage students Individualized services are developed through tiered systems of support Free mental health services offered at high school and middle school levels Groups 4 individual sessions

Universal: parent volunteers using school reinforcer; Secondary: pushing teams to think about more than just consent but helping parents/families understand and be engaged in the intervention; Tertiary: Families need to be active member on the team School population (race, free/reduced lunch, urban/rural, large/small buildings) Regardless of student population the percentage breakdowns remain the same. Any behavior that is impacting more than 20% of the student body is a universal issue. 7 Core Team Team approach to helping students access necessary resources needed to be successful in both the school and community Team of individuals representing a variety of disciplines Example: administrative, teaching, school counselor, behavioral expert, special education staff, community supports, etc.  As a team, members will review a student’s school history Access current needs Make recommendations using school- based and/or community-based resources to help increase student success Working towards increased monitoring of outcomes around action plans
