4. The impacts of drought.
Drought in the UK will NOT kill people. People DO NOT go thirsty.
Rather drought is an inconvenience and will have impacts socially, economically and environmentally.
(Socially) Water restrictions are put in place – on car washes, golf courses, garden hose pipe bans
(Economically) Agriculture is affected, especially dairy, fruit and vegetable production.
(Environmentally) High temperatures cause evaporation of water in dams and reservoirs. This impacts flora and fauna.
