You must have knowledge of all 4 time periods as all 4 will be examined.
You must be able to identify changes and continuities across the time periods.
You must divide medicine into the different aspects (causes, treatment and prevention along with the case studies.

5. Strategy 2: focus on the individuals
Create your own fact files or top trumps cards for each individual
Remember to include sections on the significance and limitations of each individual and which aspects of medicine they affected (i.e. causes or prevention/treatment)

6. Strategy 3: identify gaps in your knowledge

Go through your book and identify any key medicine words.
Fill in your glossary sheet at the front of your first book.
These words are really important for showing off your knowledge and being really specific in the exam

8. Strategy 5: identify trends, changes and continuities
Create progress lines like this one, one for each of the four time periods
Include 3 boxes. Progress, continuity and regress.
Identify the main individuals or events and discoveries for that time period and write them in where they fit on the progress line. The example shows the training of doctors was new during the Middle Ages but as they learned from the works of Galen there was not much progress, hence, its place on the line is only barely on the side of progress

9. Strategy 6: think about factors
Create tables like this one, one for each of the four time periods
Give examples of where this factor played a role in medicine
Identify the factor
Evaluate the importance of this factor.
