ACHIVEMENTS
2000: National Policy on the Advancement of Women
2003: National Action Plan on Gender and Development
2008: Evaluation of the National Action Plan on Gender and Development
2014: Elaboration the main focus areas of the Strategy on Gender-Based Violence (consultations on regional and national levels)
Ratified and signed international and regional conventions (Recent example: International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities )
2015: National Symposium on Gender and Development for a national consultation on gender equality in order to revise the National Policy on the Advancement of Women and elaborate a new National Action Plan on Gender and Development
Recruitment of consultants for the elaboration of the above-mentioned documents
2015: National launch of the Campaign Against Child Marriage

Advocacy for the ratification of the Additional Protocol of the Convention of the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) (signed in 2000), SADC Protocol on Gender and Development (signed in 2008), Protocol to the African Charter on Human and People’s Rights (ACHPR) on the Rights of Women in Africa, Resolution 1325 etc.
