4 Cover Plus Extra (CPX) What is CoverPlus Extra (CPX)?
Pre-agreed level of lost earnings compensation Who is eligible for the CPX? Non PAYE shareholder employees With upgrades in our technology, there has been some changes to CoverPlus Extra. These are outlined at acc.co.nz What is Coverplus Extra CPX is the optional product that lets people negotiate a pre-agreed level of lost earnings compensation. It exists to replace Standard CoverPlus and WorkPlace Cover After customers choose their level of cover, they have two compensation options: CPX with Standard Compensation – this is when customers receive 100% of the amount of compensation until they are fit to return to work full time. CPX with Lower Levels of Weekly Compensation – in return for a slightly lower levy, this option would pay less compensation as the individual gradually returns to work. The compensation stops when they work 30 hours a week. Part-time workers cannot choose LLWC. Who is eligible Non PAYE shareholder employees can apply for ACC CoverPlus Extra.

6 What happening today? MyACC for Business
New Model for Engaging with Clients Enable recovery Assisted recovery Supported recovery Partnered recovery Co-Investment Grants (trial) Manual Handling programme MyACC for Business has replaced ACC Online as our online tool for business customers. The information in ACC Online is no longer being updated and changes you make won’t be actions. If you’re an ACC Online user, you’ll have received an invitation with instructions to register for MyACC for Business New Model for Engaging with Clients We’re now testing this model to see if simpler, faster support helps our clients recover. It should also make it easier for employers to work with ACC. We’ve established a site in Hamilton to test the model with client cases sampled from around the country. If we supported one of your employees through the test site you may have notices some changes, such as dealing with different people or teams. We’re now adding a test site in Hawkes Bay. We’re trialling clients into four groups bases on the level of supper they need from us. Enabled recovery Clients primarily manage their own recovery. They’ll use a self-service website to request support or equipment, find out about their payments and report on recovery progress. There’ll be a team of people available if you or the client needs to speak to us and we’ll follow up if we see things are not going as planned. Example An office worker with a fracture who doesn’t need time off work, but needs some support, eg ordering a shower stool or using a taxi. Assisted recovery Clients primarily manage their own recovery. One of our team will contact them if there’s something specific to discuss and we’ll be available if you or the client need to talk to us. A person with a dislocated shoulder, who may need more help and services while they recover, eg short term weekly compensation Supported recovery Clients have a dedicated ACC contact who works with them and their employers during their recovery. A farmer with a disc prolapse where they need our help to: manage a challenging work environment access or arrange multiple services that may be needed throughout recovery. Partnered recovery Clients and employers build a relationship with a dedicated ACC contact and work together to help the client to manage their injury or recovery. A client with paraplegia who needs help to coordinate support. This can be long term.  Co-investment Grants – these re aimed at businesses between 9 and 99 employees. 50% of the cost (up to a maximum for selected aid equipment for businesses in the healthcare sector The maximum is $1800. 50% of the cost (up to a maximum) for CSC Managing Safely training for businesses in the construction sector. Construction Safety Council. The maximum is $5600. Manual Handling The programme is a simplified manual task risk management programme. It is based on participative ergonomics. Hope to test the programme with some businesses in the next 6 – 8 months. Targeting construction, manufacturing and warehousing.

7 Targeted Financial Incentives
Two new products with: flexible, connected options that change with you encourage continuous improvement ability to link the levy you pay to your business’s own workplace H&S performance not your industry average access tailored, ‘joined up’ services, information and advice to help you improve your workplace health and safety from WorkSafe New Zealand and across the H&S sector Targeted Financial Incentives ACC are looking at two products. Both products include these key changes to how things are at the moment: flexible, connected product and service options that change with you and encourage continuous improvement ability to link the levy you pay to your business’s own workplace H&S performance (not your industry average) access to tailored, ‘joined up’ services, information and advice (from WorkSafe New Zealand and across the H&S sector) to help you improve your workplace health and safety. These changes reflect a shift from a ‘compliance’ focus to an ‘outcomes’ focus, where injury prevention and its link to the levy you pay is well understood and all businesses invest in preventing injuries. Our intention is to build on this initial set of  products. For example, at a later stage, we might consider a product option aimed at businesses with more complex operating environments (eg multi-entity businesses).
