State-of-the-Art Technology
PICO fluid body feeds fluid into valve seat PICO Cartridge technology – small, compact, effective. Made of highly chemically resistant PEEK plastic. Special LG liquid gasket keeps fluid away from internal CR cartridge / spring area.

FAQs Is xMOD a replacement for all PICO valve models?
Answer: No. The xMOD is available in MV and PV version only. It may be necessary (as is standard practice) to test and evaluate the performance and capability of xMOD to meet the specific application requirements to determine suitability. Can I use the DCON driver to control xMOD? Answer: Yes! The xMOD initiates exactly as current PICO valve models. The same piezo stack and torque lever technology is used with xMOD. For xMOD PV, a new Driver DCON configuration (already under development) is needed. In case of need, Nordson EFD can update the configuration.

FAQs, continued Will the same setup parameters used with standard PICO valves produce the same deposit size with xMOD? Answer: Not necessarily. xMOD will most likely require different setup parameters to achieve similar dot size. Is it possible to switch out CR Cartridge of 0.8mm ball size with a larger 1.5mm ball size? Answer: Yes, by using the new VS Valve Seat assembly including Cartridge CR with the larger 1.5mm ball size. The modular, exchangeable design of xMOD allows you to change out components to meet potential changing conditions on the production line.

FAQs, continued Will PICO offer similar nozzle plate orifice sizes and seat geometries as with standard PICO valves? Answer: Yes. As with standard valves, we are always open to and plan to develop other needed nozzle plate orifices and seat geometries – “D” & “E” seats – to meet customer requirements. How many cycles can I expect from the CR Cartridge spring before failure? Answer: xMOD spring life has exceeded 500 million cycles without failure. Eventually, performance may diminish requiring replacement. What is the maximum fluid pressure input for xMOD? Answer: 75 bar is maximum input pressure

FAQs, continued Why is there a different cable connector with xMOD?
Answer: Eventually all PICO valves / DCON Drivers will switch to the new style improved cable connector. The new smaller connector features “click” system connection to ensure stable and stronger connection to provide greater level of high voltage protection to reduce risk of short circuit. What is the fluid temperature range? Answer: xMOD fluid temperature range is up to +75 ⁰C. What is the maximum ambient temperature range for xMOD? Answer: Up to +45 °C

FAQs, continued Are xMOD valves available as an assembled top level unit? Answer: No. xMOD offers a modular, exchangeable design concept. Order individual parts as required for your application. This provides a truly unique concept offering great value and flexibility. What is the warranty for xMOD? Answer: xMOD (as with standard EFD PICO Valves) has a one year limited warranty.
