There is a party on Place Value Street. Each house can only invite 10 friends. Let’s see if we can get each friend to the correct house.

Each house is only allowed 10 friends.
As each guest arrives send them to the correct Place Value house.

Discuss three digit numbers and remind students of the different values.

Tens House
Ones House
You can click in the box and add the numbers. You can start with zero and knock on the door and say “I’m here for the party, can I come in?” and the class says “Welcome to the party!” until you reach 10 and then they go next door. The class says” We are full, we can hold no more, number 10 must go next door!”

6. Make your own house Fold to sheets into three section and press
Glue or Staple two sheets together, leaving one side open
Cut door flaps
Add triangle roof above each section
Label doors: Hundreds Tens Ones
Open door and add numbers
Students can use copy paper or construction paper to create their Place Value House as a resource.
